Google Chrome Operating System

I didn't check the web much yesterday so I missed the NEWS by 24 hours. The title says everything (4 words, simplistic idea, sounds familiar?), but I'm going to develop the story a bit for you people because I love you all. Don't take it the wrong way or *** refer to "End of this post" ***. A-N-Y-W-A-Y, Google pulled its sword and pointed it in M$'s representative, the Four-Eye-Suit-Guy (FESG) Give it up everyone (try to smile).
pc-guy

Ok, he's PC, but he only uses Microsoft and claims that M$ is so much better. M$'s main consumer end-product is their Operating System: the famous degenerative Windows! FESG has already been challenged by many in the Internet browser battlefield: Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, Opera, Iceweasel (Fire, Ice; Fox, Weasel), Konqueror, Chrome, and a whole lot more. Still Internet Explorer seemed to have prevailed with only a slight margin from where I stand (about 3/4 of road left to reach the top of the mountain). And of course, FESG tried and still tries to dig their way in the search engine: Live Search VS Google's Famous Search Engine. I think it was FESG who wanted to acquire Yahoo in order to improve their search engine, but dropped it for financial issues (not from M$ but Yahoo at the time praised that their market value should be much higher).

Google announced the release of their Operating System for the second half of 2010. It'll be free for download. This OS, strangely called Chrome OS, mainly targets netbooks for the moment: lightweight, secure, rapid Web connection at machine's startup. Chrome OS is also open-sourced. Yes, you're correct if you immediately thought of Linux kernel (Long live Linus Torvald). With Google on the free, open-source community, FESG will be sweating, and that's a good thing. As we all know, FEGS has been dominating the operating system market by thousands of miles. The Linux operating system didn't really cut deep enough to make serious impact into the market despite Vista's failure. In case some of you aren't aware, FESG will extend Windows XP's End of Life Cycle (EOL) for a while longer (until 2012 I believe, the "Apocalypse"). Now, with Google "embedding" Linux, it should be make things much more interesting. Maybe FEGS will then go back into the gym and start training hard again to deliver better products.

Google Chrome OS will mostly use its own Web applications making it much more lightweight than existing operating systems. Their Web applications is the compatible across all OS platform from Windows to Linux (Mac is a hybrid of Linux). The only downside for now, at least to me, is that you'll most likely need to be connected to the Web at all times. That's why this OS is suitable for netbooks. To me, that's a BIG downside. Even developed from scratch, the security feature will be compromised at some point, and constant connection to the Web only makes the task more convenient. It's only a matter of time. Unethical programmers have all the time they need while big companies' software developers don't have such luxury. No matter how secure your residence is, the thieves will only need to pick the correct lock among thousands or to find the slightest crack in a wall to hammer their way in and steal everything of value in your house. When that happens, unless weapons are installed, my Mobile Suit Security Camera Project, currently designated "VESTIGE", will be of little use. In the virtual world, you'll have to find TRON and Jet Bradley to help you.

I know, I'm evil, I'm aggressive, I'm not "nice". What's wrong with me all of a sudden? For newly readers, I'm usually not that psycho, or am I? Can anyone confirm that?
