| | I opened my eyes at roughly 8:30am this morning preparing myself to witness history. This morning was the Wimbledon's Men's Single Final between my favourite tennis player, The Swiss, Roger Federer (left) and The American, Andy Roddick (right).

First set was incredible. At that time, Roddick earned my respect just by the way he put pressure on Federer. Both men held their service game, but Roddick was the first man to break and won the first set 7-5. Roddick is well-known for his big serves but that wasn't the only thing. His forehands and backhands have improved so much compared to what it used to be that he's a whole different player. The proof? Well, Federer had 4 chances to break Roddick, but the American fired back and was saved from defeat. At the same time, he forced Federer to cover the entire court running back and forth, which is something you don't see that often.
Second set, both men held their service games until the tiebreaker was won by Federer. Still, it was very hard because Federer did not had a single chance to break. During the tiebreak, it was 6-2 for Roddick and, like all commentators previously said, "let see how the genius in Federer is going to play out here" and that's exactly what he delivered after winning the next 6 straight points earning him the second set.
Third set, similar to the second set, went to the tiebreaker and looked somewhat more comfortable for Federer as he used every opportunity to win this set 7-5.

Fourth set, championship set, was so close for Federer to make history but Roddick wasn't done yet. He fired up like never before and broke the Swiss early in the set and ultimately won this set 6-3.

It certainly doesn't look like Federer held a record against Roddick 18-2 (Federer won 18 times and lost only twice to Roddick in his career) to play a 5 setter. Both men were giving it all battling all out. Aces after aces. You rarely see Federer firing serves at over 130mph. Since there's no tiebreak in the fifth set, meaning that one must break the other, it was painful, heart-staking, and it was hard as the fifth set took more than an hour and a half to complete.

In the end, Federer finally broke Roddick. He had 6 chances to break in all previous 4 sets and got another opportunity to break and took the last set 16-14. You just love watching this epic battle and it's so incredible. If you love tennis, you just can't sit comfortably as tension runs through your veines and you just started screaming. Almost every aces picked up dirt from the ground like shooting pistols to the ground.

History was made once more as Federer prevailed: - Breaking Pete Sampras' record for winning the most Grand Slam titles (Sampras 14, Federer 15) - Back into the world's #1 spot. - Holding 6 Wimbledon titles regaining his crown with a tie record to Bjorn Borg (Borg 6, Federer 6, Sampras 7) - Having a record of 19-2 against Roddick. - Played the longest set in Wimbledon's history (if not in tennis' history) - He delivered 50 aces in a game, his own career high (72 in total during this tournamen; Roddick has 27 aces but a total of 160 in this tournament).

As Federer was holding the trophy, Roddick looked away from disappointment. A great battle took place and I must admit that it's hard to lose like this. But you've beaten your way through and put pressure on a great player until the end. You should be smiling. You didn't see Federer doing the same thing last year when he lost to Rafael Nadal. Last year, Federer held that second place dish high up above his head and walked around the court. You're the world's #6 and what do you do? Looking away? You cry, and that's fine. I feel your pain too you know. Losing is part in any sport. Gosh, I started respecting you but your attitude is simply horrible.

Whenever I see this kind of attitude, my blood boils like crazy. So there you have it. The final score: Federer DEFEATED "rotten d*ck" 5-7, 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 16-14
